Abiopep is a company set up in July 2013 as a spin off from the Plant Pathology Group of the Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada del Segura from the Spanish National Research Council (CEBAS-CSIC). Abiopep develops and markets technologies to improve the quality and productivity of crops, enabling the development of an agricultural production model based on the circular economy. Abiopep is specialised in plant health solutions for vegetables.
Abiopep’s unique solutions are the result of a dedicated R&D team with proven expertise in plant pathology and crop genetics. Its R&D core competences are focussed in four main lines of research:
Detection, diagnosis and diversity of plant viruses.
Induced-resistance to plant viruses.
Genetic resistance.
Biotechnology tools for plant breeding.
Thanks to its state of the art equipped facilities and its excellence in research, Abiopep is becoming a leading provider of solutions to tackle virus-induced diseases in vegetable crops.
